Getting Cricky Guest Blog Post!!!

Hi every one! Welcome to my day as a guest blogger at Getting Cricky!! Thank you so much Kristal for honoring me with the chance to be here! I cant remember when I found her blog, but when I did it was like I found a home. The warmth and love you feel can make your darkest day bright! I think God has blessed Kristal with a huge gift. She has the ability to speak right to your heart. To know what you need to feed your spirit. Like little whispers just to you. I find them all the time in her posts. I look forward to reading Kristal's words, they have gotten me through some tough times. I gleam from her strength and kindness every day. So thank you Kristal you are helping me become a kinder, nicer better person with every post!
I'm sure you have all seen Kristal's stamps. They are my go to stamps, I love to create with them. One of my more recent projects was a little mini album I made for my oldest daughter. She is such a blessing, so beautiful and loved. I thought that the stamps from Kristal's set (Amazing You) would be perfect for her. When you are a teenager life can be pretty rough, the oldest of 4 is quite the job, let alone the stress of school, trying to find your place, let alone try to find yourself can get to you after a while. So I wanted to do something special just for her. And wouldn't you know it Kristal's stamps said just the right thing! Here is a pocket page I made. I just love the font of this word. Its so perfect.

Here is how you start the pocket.
Find an old pair of jeans, stains, and holes don't matter, its gives them some character! Pick out the back pocket you want as a page, for your mini. And cut it out. Then trace the pocket on to the jeans and cut out the mirror image. This will go onto the back of your cut out pocket.

The last step is to use fabric glue, I used Aleen's to put both sides together. Then you get to stamp!!! Pick your favorite Kandrews stamps- you can find them here. There are some really fun ones that were just put up recently!! Love them! Once your stamp is picked out inking the edges of your pocket is optional, then use the same color and stamp the sentiment on to your pocket. These stamps work wonderful on jeans! I love the crisp look they give!!
The last part is super fun! You get to bling it up!!! I had added 3 Itop flowers made out of the same jeans to my original page, so I will show you how to make one.

First cut off a leg of the jeans, then open it up. I used the Accu Cut at my local scrap store- (most stores I have visited have these for use.) find a flower die that you like and cut out 2 for each flower you want to attach, I had 3 across the top, so I cut out 6-
Then ink the edges in the colors you want for your project... wouldn't pink and green be super cute?

Then you punch a hole in your flowers, I layer them together then punch at the same time..

Then add the I-top brad! This is the really fun part! First trace the pattern out per the size of brad you are using and cut it out

Place the top of the brad on the metal cup that fits the brad you are going to use place the fabric, material, or  paper on top of that brad and give it a squeeze

Then turn the brad up so you can add some fabric glue to the inside, tuck the edges inside the brad, add the bottom of the brad on and squeeze!

After you take it out of the pink rubber shell that was holding it, you are done! Now add it to your premade flowers

Phew That was a lot of pictures!!! If you are still with me I would love to do a little give away! Because this project was inspired by my daughter who will be 16 on August 9th, I will round up super fun goodies and send them out to a winner chosen by random who lives in the United States! Of course I cant tell you what they will be, but aren't most birthday gifts fun? All you have to do is leave a comment here and over on my blog and follow if you like! If you do come over and follow, or already a follower, I will give you two chances just let me know!!!! Please leave your link if you are new and I will follow you too!!! The winner will be announced on My daughters birthday Aug 9th over on my blog!!!

Very cool project. I have been a follower and you are a much appreciated follower on my blog already.

Thank you so much for the tip about putting fabric glue in the i-top brads. I have been having trouble getting them taut but maybe this will do the trick.
