Berry Sweet

Here is the second layout of our fun day at the strawberry farm. Our trip was a great inspiration for some really fun layouts. We took some amazing pictures and just had to scrap!
Here are a few pictures we took of the kids to use on this layout and the one I posted yesterday....

A Berry Special Day

I spent the day today with my best friend. She lives 3 hours away so I dont get to see her often, but what time we do get we love that much more. We had decided long ago that our time-either on the phone, or our girl's day outs are so precious to us that we would not spoil or waste our time talking bad about others telling stories about what this person or that person did or said. It really doesnt matter anyway. We know who we are, and what type of women we are. We know that what others think and do is more about them not about us. We dont want to waste our time with worry, we give that to God, and pray for them! This also gives us more time to craft! Woo HOO!  We created some great layouts so far I will show you the first one, we each have 2 younger girls they are about the same age, So I taught her my 2 at a time trick.... man oh man does it take a long time when you are scrapping 2 - 2 page layouts! We made 8 pages total! It took us 2 nights! In my town we grow strawberries and have large farms, these layouts are for the strawberry festival we took the kids to this past weekend. Hope you like them! We sure think they are going to go amazing with our pictures!

Signature books

I made some little signature books for my daughter and her friends.. My oldest is in the 9th grade, the end of her 1st high school year is over! She was so excited to get her year book. At a whopping 50 bucks I was expecting a little more than what she got. All the pages are black. All of them. Even the  ONE signature page... There is NO room to have her friends sign her annual, even the front and back inside covers are black and covered with photos. So I thought I would make her and her friends these... A little comp book for them to have signed due to the lack poor planning of their yearbooks. This is the front:

and the back!

Fathers day gift.

Ive had a crazy weekend... Things I wanted to do just didn't get done. My 3 year old fell on her face on Saturday morning, completely changing my weekend plans. I was pretty sure she broke her nose... it was swollen, and had a large lump on the side. My husband thinks she is OK, but now  she has 2 little  black eyes, and is very whiny. Poor thing!  This was also the last weekend my dad and step mom are in town... I live in Washington state, and he lives in West Virginia. They  drove here a few weeks ago and are headed out of town in the morning. So I made my dad a little father's day mini, with all the pictures I took of him and my 4 kids.

The paper for this was 98% papertrunk from www.papertrunk.com
Its a great collection, the weight of the paper was wonderful to work with, and made this book pull its self together really quickly!
Thanks for looking and dropping by today! Leave your blog address I would love to swing by!

Daisy love

I finished these layouts this weekend, I think they need a little something on the side, so I will do some  journals on the empty green space.

Simply Sunday Challenge

I made this little tag for the Simply Sunday Challenge over Getting Cricky. Kristal has an amazing blog, I encourage you to go see for your self the warmth and loving attitude this girl has- it just beams out of her in every direction! For this challenge the theme was Vintage. I used some paper from Emma's Shoppe Collection that I found at my local mom and pop crafting store that I love so much! I also used some cardstock, and a MS bird punch, tea dye distress ink, and Labels Eight by Spellbinders. Here she is! I just love the vintage feel so much it has inspired a new little mini! I am planning it all out Im so excited to get going on it! Ok, make sure you check Kristal's blog out Getting Cricky and come back  and tell me how much you just LOVE her!!

a challenge or two.

I Made this card for the Peachy keen challenge, and for Emma's challenge over on her blog http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ I used some of my stash, a PK face from Boy Mates, I used an old Sizzix die called Flower layers w/leaf for the flower, then I spritzed it with some smooch Spritz, sponged peridot ink by Stampology on the edges, to bring out the green on the patterned paper, and added some bling. The stamp is from Stampin Daisies "Just the Basics". This is a great stamp set love the size of the stamps!

What Im going to scrap next!

I have chosen the pictures I want to use for my next project or two,
and thought I would share the process I use to get my creative juices flowing...

First I pick cute clothes to put my kids in.. I know clothes are not everything.. and they are not... however I don't photo shop and its easier to use bright colored clothes with out stains to shoot because I don't edit.

Next I choose my pictures..
Here is a picture I took last weekend I am going to print.... I usually wait for a sale at Walgreen's, I load them up to Walgreen's.com just wait for a 10 cent sale.. there is

one now, so I am going to do some printing today!~
I choose the pics I think I can group, some of the kids by themselves and a few with a sibling or two. Each child has their own album so I like to include a picture of their brother or sisters too.

Then I go through my paper stash and find colors that match the pictures. I choose 3 main colors and a 4th color, or pattern that is an accent. Sometimes I will chose more patterned paper than this, but I like to keep my layouts clean and focus on my pictures. Sometimes I do create more fussy layouts with tons of embellishments and pretties, usually when I have more time to play.
I have said this several times, but I don't just make one layout at a time. I make at LEAST 2 most of the time 3. With 4 kids this is the only way I can keep current, and not feel like I am sinking in pictures that I need to scrap.

After the colors are chosen I pick a theme of the layout.. I have chosen kelly green, white and yellow for these pictures, as well as little white flowers for the embellishments. I am going to use the girls' tee shirts for inspiration, and create a little heart for Iyla's page, and a peace sign for Emma's page out of the flowers I punched.
Im going to work on these tonight. Im not feeling to bad today so I think I might just get these done! See you all soon with some really cute layouts!~ Happy scrapping to you!
