Welcome to You had me at scrap, and the Motions and Folds Card Hop! Hosted by Ellen! Thank you for getting us all together today for this hop- I've had tons of fun.   I'm glad your here.

We would love to share a few cards and projects with a motion and fold theme with you! Make sure to check out each member's blog. There will be some fun prizes along the way, and  there will be some amazing ideas!

I decided to make a folded frame card. Here it is!
I used DCWV paper, and a premade white card for the base. I used 3 stampin up punches, two for the scallop circles, and one that made the bird. I used a $1. stamp from Michaels Crafts and heat embossed the saying. I tried to find a color that matched the bird to pull out the blue, not sure if you can tell in the pic- Its cuter in person. I promise!

If you have gotten this far I want to tell you I have some blog candy!! All you have to do is follow me, leave a comment with your email address, AND have a US shipping address. Sorry guys. Now off you go!

love note for Carter

I have been making layouts for my kids incorporating some of the recent cards I have made. I write a little love note inside, and close it with ribbon or put it in an envelope like I did on Iyla's page. Here is the latest one I've gotten done, for my son Carter. Some day they will take them out of the plastic sleves and open the cards to see what I wrote to them.
After looking at this, I wasnt even sure if I was going to post this layout... I just thought it was missing something... then I figured it out!It was just to empty- So I filled it up... here is the new layout..

A quick spring lay out for one of the kids, not sure what one yet... thought I would try to make a few ahead of time so I wouldnt feel so rushed when the weather turns nice and I take the kids out for pictures again.

more owls

Did you cringe at the name of this post? I know I have been doing sooo much owl stuff, it seems like its never ending. I have one more project after this one for the little girls room, then I'm done for awhile. Here is the latest project: the door sign. I made it from Create a Critter, and Cricut Classis Font. The paper is recollections card stock, some DCWV  card stock and some misc. pattern paper I had from an older stack.

I did it!

I did it... I talked my hubba hubba dh- into letting me move my crafting space down stairs to the play room. It was a good idea really, the kids don't "play" in here they don't even have toys in here.. just a computer a tv and our mondo family couch. The little girls have a play area off my dining room where I can see them from the kitchen, and living room. The big kids really don't use this room very much- so its getting re purposed!~~ I'm so excited! If you didn't know, my husband is a cabinet maker, he does amazing work in high end homes for Dr.'s and fancy pants people... I asked him if I could take the built in desk he made for me upstairs to use in the new room and he said he wanted to design a new desk for me with enough room for the kids to craft with me!! He started work this weekend with a new door and a keyed lock... I don't want the little ones in here if I'm not with them... I can just see a carpet covered in stickles and glitter..yikes. So I don't know how long he is going to take, but I've already rearranged the new craft room, (hehe  I love saying that.)I just have to wait for hubs to finish the new desk and other wonderful projects I've got him working on! I thought I would close with a picture of hubs working at home- isn't he the best!

kelcee's layout

This is my Love Note layout for my oldest Kelcee. We both worked on this card, so I thought I would use this card for her layout. I used Jolly Holliday for the card. I have been making layouts for the kids with little cards in them so that they will have something to read just from mom someday.

Hogs and Kisses, and my secret.

When  I go  to my crops I'm often asked how many kids I have, I answer 4,( I get all kinds of responses to this number ) then the next question asked is how I could possibly find time to scrap for each of them? Well,... I cheat.. I will tell you my secret. Ok you ready...... here it is. Most of my pictures of my kids are taken at the same time/occasion- like the park in the layouts below... I use my gypsy, and create a layout. Then I cut it out 4 times, sometimes I use the same paper, some times I switch it up a bit. This also works on layouts of other things. I just save them on my gypsy. They may work for another kid. Just tweek the colors or add something. Do you have tricks for getting it all done? I would love to hear them!!  Here are the pics of the park last week and 3 of the 4 layouts I made.  The 4th one is an almost exact copy of the brown one. I used playtime  for the pig,( and hid the money slot on gypsy.) and cricut classic font for the words. I water colored the white pig in the first layout.

Christmas 2010

I did a layout today from this past Christmas. I'm trying really hard to keep up but its not so easy with 4 kids books to do. Some one always has something scrap worthy! Well I got to do Emma's Santa layout. I used DCWV paper for the back ground, and recollections card stock for the rest, I also used Jolly Holiday, and Cricut classic font.

Little water gator

I went to a crop Saturday, I only got about 6 layouts done, this one is my favorite!~ I made this layout with create a critter, and cricut classic font. This is a page I RE-did from earlier last year, it just didn't have the look I wanted for the pictures. I think I finally got it right! I used a spellbinder and made a layered tag that I hid behind the bottom pictures.

Valentines Day kids layout

I am going to take pictures of my kids for this layout on Monday- I'm super excited. I got the little girls clothes in the mail today from Gymboree, my oldest daughter is all set, I just need to pick up a shirt for my son! I hope they turn out well- I'm going to use one of the new pics of all 4 of them in this layout. Now I need to work on individual layouts for the oldest two.

For this layout I used 2 12x12 card stock in red,
one background paper cut the edges with a die cut
inked them with walnut stain. Cut out a large heart on my expression using George, and layered that with cream recollections card stock. I then doodled all around the red paper, the heart, and the words ( I cut them out in Classic Cricut.) I used a large ek punch for the flower, I sprayed them with water, layered 3 together and scrunched. I made three of them and then bunched them all together. Sprayed smooch in red and sparkle all over it. The flower looks like a hydrangea in person, the camera makes it look a mess, but its cute in real life I promise! Next I heat embossed some designs on the left over red paper and cut them out.

card for Abby's challenge

I am going to enter this in Abby's Scrappy Mom's Challenge her requirements were ez. anything goes, just have a stamp and be a new project!!! I can do that!  So
I decided to make this card for a friend, she is super inspirational, funny, and fun to be around. She keeps me going-on the tough days.

We work together every once in a while and I really enjoy those days.
I used Black Currant paper stack by DCWV and Paisley cart on my gypsy.  I dont have any Scrappy Moms stamps yet and so I just used what I had.

New Scrap storage!!

So I love to see how other people store craft stuff and what they keep where, I love to see all the creative way people come up with in small spaces and how if one is so luck to have a room for crafting how they gussy it up. I asked my DH for more storage space and showed him a few ladies spaces online, I was thinking I like the Ikea units with the cubbies, but I wanted drawers like the white jetmax storage, I also wanted a shelve that was wide and tall enough for odd hard to store items. I also asked if he could make shelves in 3 of the cubbies so I could hold the plastic iris paper holders. He left for half a day and brought back this!!! ( he is going to finish this weekend on the iris shelves, and drawers!)

AND these, to go at the sides of my sit down desk! I have some paper jetmax storage on one side, and a set of white drawers he made me on the other and there was this big gap between the wall and the back of the cubbies. The new shelves and drawers he made for me, make the desk a more sturdy structure for the heavy white book shelf that sits on top!! yea!~
NEXT: under counter lighting, and convincing him I need the playroom for my craft space!!

I made this card for two challenges-
Emma's Throw back Thursday here are the details for  this challenge," we are featuring 2 cartridges! "Just Because" & "Wild Card" cartridges! My team & I made cards & make sure your card has a "Stamped Sentiment" on it!!! Here are the specifics to this challenge:
Link your project up to Mr. Linky, then leave a comment!
Deadline for this challenge will be on Wed, February 16th!

momo's Tuesday Challenge and Crafting with Cristina

I made a layout for Momo's Tuesday challenge, and the challenge over at Crafting with Cristina. I used create a critter, for all the cuts, and 2 MS punches. for the edge and the melting heart.  I also used my Be Mine stamps from pink cricut, you can find them at pink by design store the hearts are going to be used for journaling.

Card Holder

Last week I made some owl hair clip holders for my daughters bedroom.( go check out the post sooo cute!) In the picture there were baby owls, I thought they were super cute and decided to spruce up my crafty space with them. Doesn't every one have a card holder- or some form of this idea? Ive seen this idea as ribbon spool holders, card holders, and even as a line to clip layouts to... you could do this little critter or something like it for anyone of those ideas, and make it personalised just for your space.  The little owls are perfect here holding my card ribbon. Think I will make a art display line for the little girls.
